Joint Event on “BUILDING RESILIENT CAPITAL MARKETS IN A DIGITAL ERA”
A Legal and Regulatory Dialogue!
The International Law Association – Securities Regulation Committee (ILA-SRC), in collaboration with University Carlos III of Madrid, IOSCO and the European Banking Institute, is organising an international conference that brings together regulators, academics and practitioners to discuss how legal and regulatory frameworks can respond to rapid technological change, market innovation and systemic risk. In this context, the early-career panels, co-organised with the European Banking Institute, aim to provide a dedicated forum for young researchers to present and discuss original research that engages critically with the conference themes.

Call for Papers for Early Careers Sessions:
The panel is open to early career researchers, including PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers and other scholars who obtained their PhD within the last seven years. The panel is designed as a supportive and intellectually rigorous space, fostering dialogue between junior researchers and senior academics participating in the conference, and encouraging comparative, interdisciplinary and forward-looking perspectives.
We invite submissions addressing legal, regulatory and institutional dimensions of capital markets in a digital and globalised environment. Both doctrinal and theoretical contributions are welcome, as are empirically informed legal analyses.
Contributions in the broader area of financial regulation are welcome, on topics including (but not limited to):
- The role and impact of digitalisation, and/or digital fraud
- Private markets and private credit
- Competition and collaboration among stock markets
- Transition finance
- Cross-border cooperation
Interested participants are invited to submit:
- An abstract of up to 500 words, clearly outlining the research question, methodology and main contribution; and
- A short bio (max. 150 words) indicating institutional affiliation and career stage.

The selected speakers will present their work in Madrid during the dedicated early career panels of the conference on 13 March 2026.
