EBI Monthly Review

The EBI Monthly Review offers a summary of the Institute's activity during the past month.

As the Institute goes off on its annual summer break, I would like to thank all of our EBI members and supporters for contributing to an extremely fruitful first half of the year.

The 16th EBI Policy Series was successfully held on 12 July and yielded an interesting discussion regarding the program of the Czech Government for the EU Council Presidency, which was inaugurated at the beginning of this month, and its ramifications for the European financial system.

Regarding the activities of our Academic Board, the EBI Working Paper Series had several high-quality additions to its repertoire. Furthermore, the EBI co-hosted the 5th International Summer School on "Banking & Capital Markets Law", mainly run by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore under the leadership of our colleague Antonella Sciarrone.

We are looking forward to a productive return to our activities in September, which will inter alia include various events hosted by the EBI Policy Center, e.g. the next Annual EBI Policy Conference on 17 November, and the launch, on 9 September, of our brand-new "EBI LL.M. in EU Banking and Financial Regulation", jointly organized with the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management. On that account, I wish you all a restful summer break.

Dr. Thomas Gstädtner
President of the Supervisory Board of EBI

16th EBI Policy Series

It was a pleasure to host Mr. Dusan Hradil (Czech Republic Ministry of Finance) and Mr. Petr Procházka (Czech Banking Association) on 12 July at the 16th EBI Policy Series, as they discussed the program of the Czech government for the EU presidency in the field of banking and financial markets.

This event was hosted by the Director of the EBI Policy Center, Mr. Nejc Smole.

The EBI Policy Center works under the auspices of Dr. Thomas Gstädtner, President of the EBI Supervisory Board.

Thank you very much to all for the productive discussion!
