EBI Master in EU Banking & Financial Regulation (LL.M.)

The European Banking Institute (EBI) and Frankfurt School of Finance and Management have jointly established and strategically manage the master’s programme: EBI Master in EU Banking and Financial Regulation, which is awarded a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree. EBI Master students will gain the skills and necessary expertise to successfully work in the entire field of banking and financial regulation.

EBI Conference in Madrid

“Banking and Finance in Stressed Times: Climate, Resilience and Exit”

On 11 – 12 May, the EBI had the honour to co-organise the EBI Conference on “Banking and Finance in Stressed Times: Climate, Resilience and Exit”. Professors David Ramos Muñoz (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid), Maria del Pilar Perales Viscasillas(Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) and Juana Pulgar Ezquerra (Universidad Complutense de Madrid) with the support of Enrico Leone (Chancellor and Member of the Supervisory Board of EBI) were responsible for putting this interesting event together.

During the 10th EBI Academic Debate, three chapters of the newly published book “Digitalisation, Sustainability, and the Banking and Capital Markets Union” by the EBI Young Researchers’ Group were discussed. The three topics were:

1.Tokenised Crowdfunding: What Regulatory Forecast?”

2.Sustainability and Systemic Risk in EU Banking Regulation”
Joeri De Smet,  KU Leuven & Coordinator of EBI’s Young Researchers Group

3.Game of Thrones – The Clash Between Public Interest and Property Rights in Banking Resolution”
Elli Anastopoulou, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens & Coordinator of EBI’s Young Researchers Group

This event was hosted by the editors of the book, Dr. Lukas Böffel, LL.M. (Berkeley)(Member of the EBI Associated Researchers Group) and Dr. Jonas Schürger(University of Bonn & Member of the EBI Young Researchers Group).

11th EBI Academic Debate

“The Current Financial Turmoil”

On 30 May, the EBI hosted its 11th Academic Debate on “The Current Financial Turmoil”. Prof. Dr. Jens Binder (University of Tübingen & Member of the Academic Board of EBI) held a presentation on “The Recent Failures of US Banks”. During the second session, Prof. Dr. Rolf Sethe (Universität Zürich & Academic Board of EBI) and Prof. Dr. Seraina Grünewald (Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen & Academic Board of EBI) jointly presented  on “The ‘Credit Suisse’ Case”.
